Trailrunners Orphan Annie WC WCI JH

Annie is one of our younger females who has finished her competition career and is settling in to being a mom. She is a 5th generation Trailrunners dog, and is the daughter of our Master Hunt and National Master Qualifier sire, Junior. She is very similar to him with high intelligence and sensitivity, and a gentle temperament. With other dogs and people, she is calm and self confident. Affection and attention is not her motivation, she is a "thinker", and enjoys problem solving with her handler in work. She is a medium 50lb size, longer and leaner through the body. 

This is Annie's second litter, and we are pleased to see that she has had black, as well as fox red and chocolate, this year. We have had a few of the last litter return for training, and they have grown into beautiful, strong, eager and extremely trainable dogs.

Ozark also has a strong work ethic, but he is very motivated by play and loves to engage with anyone who is close enough to give him attention. He is very trainable, a "doer", who can't wait to take on what you want him to do next. He has rock solid focus and is a very strong retriever - big Canadas and tricky birds are no problem for him with his wide jaw and 70lb build. (check out his page for videos)

As a sire for Annie's pups, Ozark brings great balance, both in temperment and build. His outgoing personality adds a more fun loving attitude to the high intellegince and strong work ethic of Annie, without compromising on drive. He also brings a bigger frame size (perfect for geese), and a gorgeous square head. Their pups will be (and are!) hard workers, eager for the hunt or for sport, and a joy to take anywhere and spend time with as family members.

Trailrunners Big River Baikal has a gorgeous head, and a big love for his toys. We had the pleasure of working on his obedience and intro to gun dog at our Training Center. At less a year old, he went on his first hunt with his dad. We hope they enjoy many more together!

Trailrunners Rocco Taj returned for obedience and gun dog training this spring. Since then, he has successfully completed his Working Certificate and Junior Hunt titles (with his owner handling him for most of the passes!), and hopes to compete his Working Certificate Intermediate in late summer.  He will also enjoy bird hunting with his family this fall.

From birth, all our pups are handled (and snuggled! hard to resist) each day. It helps to improve their body awareness, and stimulate their neurological system for better health and brain development. At almost two weeks old they are having their session with family members a little more their size.

Very soon Annie will be off of milk duty. We have begun supplementing several meals a day, with momma still looking after them over night. Once she tells us that she is ready for alone time (9 babies is a lot!), the pups will graduate out of the pool and into their own room.
