US - The Oudshoorn Family, Trailrunners
Kennels, Pet Resort and Labrador Retrievers
 The
Kennels, Pet Resort, dog breeding / training
and pup raising that goes on in and around our
home, is a family project. We all roll up our
sleeves and do our part, as you might notice
in the pictures below.
We live in "Canada's midwest"
along the edge of the wilderness, on a private
lake in North central Saskatchewan Canada, near
the village of Big River.
Our kennels are not separate from our home,
but are actually right attatched and inside
our home. Pups are whelped and raised in the
house, and all of the dogs come in for the night
to get a good rest, and to have consistent human
interaction plus training tune ups and drills.
They have regular contact with children who
not only play with them, but are also actively
involved in their care and training as well!
We are active in the local 4H club which Fran
(mom) serves as the leader of the Canine chapter.
Other children come over with their dogs and
learn about care, training, and join in fun
events with their dogs.

the dogs sometime!
Fran, Caleb, and Phoebe with the CKC Judge at
the Lloydminster Obedience Trial in 2006, where
all 3 dogs won titles and also High Score in
Class! Mom and Jr Handlers were very pleased
to say the least! These dogs were trained in
obedience by... "our whole family".

Caleb, with the CKC judges when he received
his first obedience title with our Trailrunners
Birdy Brune, the chocolate Lab that he trained
as his 4H club dog.
He not only did that but he got High score
in the class. No wonder his smile is so big!!!

The fun in the pictures above were just part
of a typical day here at Trailrunners Kennels,
and the Oudshoorn home. The one on the left
shows a temporary enclosure that some of our
dogs were staying in, while other kennels were
under construction. After a dog burrowed a big
"cave" it invited some fun exploring!
- Field day Training Retrievers
We live "in the forest fringe" on
a private lake in North central Saskatchewan
Canada, near the town of Big River, in the hamlet
of Bodmin.
We live at the borders of vast wilderness,
(Only the bottom 1/2 of Sask is flat and treeless),
yet we are located along highway 55, so we have
access to cities within a reasonable driving
distance. On a map we appear on the "Wild
West Side" of the Prince Albert Natnl.
Park about half way up. We are just over a two
hour drive straight up from Saskatoon.
On our land around our home you might see various
wildlife, and on the lake there is an endless
variety of birds and waterfowl. On our many
trails you will find upland birds like partridge
and grouse.
We are not so far away to be out of reach.
We get dogs and visitors from all over western
Canada and beyond. Trailrunners Pet Resort and
Training Center is is a great place for any
dog and owner to visit, stay, play, and learn!
